Concept art

Much like my comics and illustrations, I've developed a lot of concepts in college. I didn't realize just how many ideas I've made until looking through my archives. These are just some selections I thought showed my understandings of concept art..

The derelict of sewn animals

A character sheet for a comic I made in college called "The Derelict of Sewn Animals."

It's about two brothers who go to see their grandparents for the winter. Deep in the forest, they find the shattered remains of the farmer's barn, who previously owned the property. They suddenly come face to face with his spirit, now bringing his animals back to life as sentient taxidermy pieces.

I plan to redraw and reconceptualize the initial eight pages soon.

the tinker taking Mushroom man

A character sheet for another comic I made in college called "The Tinker-Taking Mushroom Man."

It's about a girl named Sophie confronting her town's notorious mushroom-shaped thief who collects strange and valuable objects from each of her neighbor's home for their strange needs.

This only reached the scripting and penciling stage so I'm very much looking forward to when those pages are completed as well.

Miscellaneous

Some concepts I did a couple years into my degree.

veggie-sauna

This was created in a conceptual illustration class, with the focus on illustrating the characters, environments, and props for our project.

I created a story surrounding an alien obsessed girl who encounters a community of fruits and vegetables that travel to a large sauna house in the dead of night to preserve their nutrients for their harvest.

studies from the last three months (Where my teeth have gone Journal)

During the creation of this comic (also planning on redoing), I had to form a sketchbook where I illustrated concepts and ideas surrounding the story.

It's about a kid named Eddie who goes to his usual dentist appointment, expecting the same boring routine. Unfortunately, his dentist's been missing and replaced by the toothy, wide-eyed weirdo Dr. Smile.

After being put unconscious, Eddie realizes that Smile has been harvesting his teeth for his army of tiny teeth babies.

The Many Faces of a Bani
(30 day challenge)

In college, we were challenged to create thirty illustrations surrounding a subject of our choosing.

I chose the Bani and messed my hand and mind up getting this completed alongside my other projects. Really fun exercise nonetheless.
